About Jonathan Beck

Jonathan Beck (*1978) is an Israeli representational painter and printmaker. His works vary on the scale of realism between a detailed, optical transcription of reality to more a expressive, painterly style. His themes includes the gamut of genres that the art of painting deals with: Still lifes, portraits, landscapes and figures.

As printmaker, Beck started with linocuts, moving quickly from this relatively crude technique to the more delicate art of etchings and aquatint. His etchings. in small editions, are impressive in the degree of control he exerts over this antique, complicated craft.
