For nearly 20 years, Shai Davis has trained his camera on the majestic, the geometric, the unnoticed, the abstract, the absurd, the human and the pedestrian. Trained in visual studies at Harvard University, he took his first photography class his freshman year, and has had a camera in hand ever since. In addition to his home studio where he works with models, still lifes, and materials discarded by neighbors, Shai is a keen traveler and has enjoyed photographing countries like Japan, the Philippines, Argentina, in addition to European cities and his own native U.S. and adopted Israel. He was co-founder and CEO of a photography startup designed to inspire budding shutterbugs, and has taught classes of adults and children alike. He lives in Tel Aviv with his Aussiedoodle and many, many camera batteries.
