Michal Barnea draws inspiration from the relationship between exposure and discretion, and the transition from a two-dimensional existence into a three-dimensional one. She explores these themes through the different materials with which she creates: oil and industrial paints, pencils, metal wires, and paper. Her works are formalist, emphasizing form over content, and although the subjects she depicts are not always simple, they are delivered with beauty and gentlenes.
Michal has studied art at the Art Midrasha, the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, and at the Kalisher School of Art. Her works have been shown in multiple galleries and private collections in Israel.
