Avi Levin

"Most of my works correspond with the different interpretations of “home” and “identity”. The characters I present are placed out of context and positioned in both touristic and local compositions, seeking to find their place in their given space.
I find that in the act of capturing the same encounter, new ideas arise. I feel a sense of alienation in the face of an unfamiliar landscape in my country, one that I believe I should have known well. This feeling is all the more difficult, for it is my homeland, my home, and yet it makes me feel like a stranger... 

The act of photographing corresponds with this feeling; While to those I wish to photograph I am a local, I recognize within me both the familiar and the strange and novel "- Avi Levin.
