For the first time, a video and sound installation by the artist Dor Zelicha Levy, created especially for the place, will be presented in the historic Arches Pool, at the initiative of the Ramla Municipality, the Ramla Foundation and the Ramla Center for Contemporary Art.

Visitors are invited to a unique experience, a cultural and ideological journey in which the pool space is revealed in all its glory.
"In his work 'Reflection', Zelicha Levy turns this bubble of reality into a place of introspection and opening," says Dr. Smadar Shefi, the curator. The work touches on many levels of associations, emotions and memories, ranging from past to present. "Boa is a bridge over time and culture differences because it deals with listening, the ability to hear what is less familiar and creates amazing moments."
At the center of the work are musical works sung simultaneously in Hebrew and Arabic, and played from 8 speakers hung from the pool ceiling. On the walls are projected rounded images originating from ancient musical instruments taken while playing them: skins stretched on drums as well as a decoration originating from the opening of the resonator box of the string instrument Adv. The work emphasizes the special acoustics of the pool, and while sailing and moving in space you can listen to different sections of the musical works. ?reflection? It is based on popular Arabic songs, to which Jewish poets have composed Hebrew words, piyyutim that deal with expressing love for God and longing for redemption. The songs in Arabic are love songs, identified by the performance of prominent musicians such as Fayrouz and Tzabah Fakhri. The melody of the songs is the same, so that the playing of the piyyutim and songs at the same time creates a complex harmonious relationship between the voices of the singing in Hebrew and Arabic.
Dor Zelicha Levy is a video and sound artist, whose work preserves and processes personal and collective memories. Forgotten voices come to life in his works and are re-heard in a way that allows listening, listening and devotion.
Won the Zoom Award for a Young Israeli Artist (2016), a Young Artist Award from the Ministry of Culture (2017) and an Artist Residence Scholarship in Artport (2020). Zelicha Levy is a lecturer at the Bezalel Academy and also deals with education in various community settings. In 'Boba', there will be community and educational activities that include artist and curator meetings with high school students, middle schools and other diverse audiences.

The piece lasts about 20 minutes.
The Arches Pool was inaugurated in 789 AD, during the era of Muslim rule in the Land of Israel as part of a water supply system.
The pool was used (1971) as one of the filming sites for the mythological film 'Hasamba and the No Man's Boys'. Today it is a leading tourist site and will soon open a visitor center. The construction of a 'reflection' in the pool space took about a year due to the challenges involved in working in a historic structure, including the import of professional equipment from abroad and the design of unique facilities.
The Ramla Center for Contemporary Art CACR was opened in 2019 at the initiative of the Ramla Municipality and the Ramla Foundation. Directed by Ron Peled, Chief Curator Dr. Smadar Shefi.
