"A work of art grows from the depths of the world that cannot be completely illuminated," said Victor Frenkel, the Viennese writer and psychiatrist at the time.
The work of the multidisciplinary artist, Illit Krauss, grows from the depths of the soul and illuminates the soul.
Elite, a graduate of art high schools in Israel and the Netherlands, is constantly experimenting with subjects in her work and various materials.
The themes on which the artist is focused today, are colors and spaces of nature in an abstract way. This allows the observer to make his time-out and escape from reality for the positive, enjoyable and calming.
She says:
"My inspiration comes from the environment in which I grew up. I am a fifth generation in the Yesod HaMaala colony in the Upper Galilee. Nature and spaces, fields, colors and games of light, the great spots of nature - one big abstract."
Krauss looks primarily at nature as a convenient substrate for projecting her emotions and expressing them. Her art language ranges from the purity to the authenticity of nature and is very much influenced by early Israeli painting. However, her paintings try to reflect a constantly pulsating contemporary mood.
Her works, oil on canvas with a unique technique with spatulas, are optimistic, bright, light, airy, useful and mind-altering. A lot of green, a lot of blue, a land of Israel that gives hope and pride.
Elite has exhibited in Israel, Europe and America.
