The solo exhibition "Artist on the doorstep" by artist Lisa Zabersky will open in July at a brick house in Rishon Lezion, her city of residence. This is after a series of exhibitions in Tel Aviv, Kfar Saba and Berlin.

The works of artist Liza Zabersky, born in Kiev ( 1980 ), stand on the seam between poetry and painting, between reality and imagination, and incorporate philosophical and existential utterances while engaging in dialogue with the viewer.

The exhibition will showcase 27 of her works from the last few years, using a special technique that combines oil paints and Sisyphean ink with ink. After the "Endless Meeting" exhibition that corresponded with Alterman's poetry, the "Open Closed Open" exhibition that corresponded with Amichai's poetry, and the "Word Colors" exhibition in Berlin, which opened on Holocaust Martyrs 'and Heroes' Day 2018, is now "on the threshold". In this, as the artist testifies, "the era of my Holocaust paintings is over, and I stand on the threshold full of hope and optimism."

Threshold - Threshold, is the lower beam of the doorway. The two sides perpendicular to it are, in the biblical language, the mezuzah, and the beam above - the parallel to the threshold - is a lintel. She overlooks both inside and out. Standing on the threshold, outright, as an observer, is the basis for Zabrski's work.

According to the artist. "My works are states of consciousness on the continuum of contrast between the interior and the outside. They reflect the human and private state of the world of alienation, alienation and loneliness.

According to the curator: "In her paintings Zabersky conveys a state of consciousness which is a response to existing reality, the experiences and situations she portrays are on the threshold, in the map, and present different perspectives on the home and abroad. Or at a point in time, Zabersky describes a place that is at the same time everywhere and nowhere - so anyone can find themselves among her paintings.

Many motifs are repeated in Lisa's paintings, thus unifying the paintings into a touching but at the same time inspiring and exciting story. One of them is the dog. He is on the lookout, and appears in many paintings and is always in a place that is the threshold, door of the house, window, exit to the balcony. The dog is the unrelated symbol of loyalty and love, which adds another layer of emotion and non-verbal understanding to the paintings.

Although the emotion expressed in Lisa's paintings is subjective and individual, it inevitably resonates in the viewer's mind. We stand in awe of the original language in which the artist speaks, which is unique to her, and at the same time speaks to us all. "
