The Rothschild Art Gallery is honored to present the first single exhibition at the Patinkin Gallery.
The exhibition will show oil pictures of varying sizes of characters from daily life.
As Ootah herself testifies:
"Through painting, I want to convey an unimaginable sense experience that expresses emotion, a deep human sense that is universal but on the other hand also very private.
I do not consciously choose what I will paint, the subject of the picture comes to me from an inner feeling or visual appearance of figure, texture, light. Over the years I have discovered that a human figure is a very significant issue for me. Allowing me to express myself most directly.
However, in choosing the object of painting, I work from an internal sense during my work, I am in a tension between the intuition and the legality of the painting language that I draw from in-depth learning of past artists and the art tradition of history. Throughout the work, the painting undergoes many changes over a short period of time and sometimes for many months.
In the course of my work, I seek the right balance between the elements of the painting so that they create plastic depth on a two-dimensional surface, while also expressing a human poetic sensory experience. "
At the same time, the exhibition will feature an exhibition at the Maya Gallery dealing with card players.
Otta, a graduate of the New York Studio School , returned to Israel a few years ago and founded the Italian School of Painting and Sculpture with her partner, Avner Levinson.
