Curator: Lori Pashnica
Hannah Levy was born in 1950 in Jaffa. She is married for 53 years to her youthful champion, mother of five daughters, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. All her years have passed through the city of Tel Aviv - Jaffa, and today she lives in the Sharona compound in the heart of her beloved city.

Hannah has been painting since the age of five. She must have inherited the gardens from Aunt Martha Markowitz, who was a well-known painter. Her father was a painter and at home there was plenty of oil paint. Her father had taught her to make pigment and oil paint and that was how she began her painting course.
Since then, painting has been part of her spirit and spirit. Even when she spent her life managing a medical system and hobbies, such as theater and sports, she did not lay down her brush and whenever she was free she continued to paint autodidactively. She later completed her studies at the Renanim School of Art. In Neve Tzedek, under the guidance of the late Haim Tzvi Tadmor, and participated in other artists 'workshops, including at the Rishon LeZion Artists' Association under the guidance of Dov Kalman and in an artist workshop with Avshalom Okashi at the Avni Institute. For years she'd even trained herself
Painting and art in various schools.
Hannah Levy paints Bakril and oil. Her style tends to expressive realism and yet in several paintings like the aquarelle series - they are soft and serene.
She is inspired by episodes in everyday life, sometimes by dramatic drama on the television that remains engraved in her mind, or by conversation between neighbors. Moments of joy and laughter, swirling and crystallizing, and then she walks over to the waiting one and pours on it the picture she had imagined.

Chana Levy likes to travel in the neighborhoods of her beloved city of Tel Aviv-Jaffa. In the beautiful alleys and in particular enjoy the atmosphere in Neve Tzedek. Her encounter with the landscape is a meeting of belonging and commitment and not of the observer. Belonging to the history of our forefathers who wandered here thousands of years ago. She looks inside the human soul and tries to catch a whip and move.
Sometimes the eye ignites and walks the paths of the imagination, creating a happy or dark and gloomy story in the jungle jungle of life at the time, making an analogy between our time and those periods and trying to find similarities between them.
The exhibition features works from the series of characters and a series of landscapes and alleys of the city of Tel Aviv.
She finds a successful combination of new and old, between different religions and beliefs, between traditional food houses and glamorous chef restaurants. Lively entertainment complexes and a spectacular promenade, the harbor and the old quarter. The flea market, which combines the old with the new, with music everywhere and people singing.
The ability to empathize with others and sympathize with their feelings, sketched drawings and turned them into paintings on canvas, such as creating a cafe in the flea market. The women talked and Hannah looked at them and imagined the shape of the conversation. As she recounted to herself a life story that the character experienced, she received a painting that was created from the depths of her heart, from her perspective, from her closeness and from her feelings.
Over the years Hanna has participated in numerous solo exhibitions and group exhibitions, including:
1994 - Tirosh Gallery, Jaffa with curator Irit Levin.
2008 - Roots in the gallery of Amalia Arbel.
2009 - Beit Sokolov "Another Zeit" - Curator Nurit Tal Tene.
1999-2013 - Yavne Art Workshop Group Exhibitions.

Spier in Germany "The Scroll". Curator Roni Reuven.
Spice Gallery Gan Ha'Ir with the curator Ike Shoval.

As with a cane, Hannah walks with her brush between the paths of the story that directs her rich fertile imagination and the combination of her spiritual connection. It penetrates the power, the strength and the optimism that lies in it with great talent into the objects it chose to paint in warm and energetic colors. With a special charisma that characterizes her, she sweeps us into her paintings of color and emotion and captures the heart of the beholder.

All the works in the exhibition are for purchase.
