Such a life / W Tower Gallery10/02/2019 to - 29/04/2019 Curator: Lori Pashnica Ben Yosef Iris, was born in Tel Aviv in 1965 and now lives in Rishon Letzion. In her youth she participated in art circles and art workshops that included painting, drawing, pottery, pottery and sewing. Over the years she focused only on sculpture. She began to work with clay. She loved the variety of textures and the influence of the color she chose as an intermediary for emotion. In her beautiful studio she smears the clay, feels it and even challenges the figurative body. She does not plan the character in advance, she dismantles and re-assembles until the figure is created in clay and then she only removes the layers to discover it. In order to specialize and upgrade her knowledge, she studied for two years in the group with sculptor Moshe Shasha. 3 years individually with the sculptor Ramon Mendesone. She studied at the Binyamini Contemporary Ceramics Center for two more years with a group of advanced artists and for the past three years she has been studying with sculptor Avner Levinson. She has owned a well-known hairdresser in Tel Aviv for 25 years. Her hands create designs out of thin air. Her observation of the environment creates in her an identification with human situations that she conveys to clay and through it she tries to convey the emotions that accompany the changing states of life . Her sculptures were born from her clients' life stories. Many stories evoke her emotionally. She listens to the client's pain as well as to her joy. She returns to her studio filled with emotion and begins to sculpt. When a statue is created, it is emotionally liberated. If the story hurts, it feels as if it has taken part in the client's life journey and the pain is released. She comes to insights: "We are all human beings, all of us alike, although we are different and we all need support and love." She falls in love with the statue. In the inner goodness in it, in the context of the story of the life of the other and of art and self-discovery. In her well-kept home, her beautiful statues are spread everywhere. It does not bother her that they are not arranged in perfect order. She lives with them lovingly, likes to stroke them unnoticed as she passes them. Every piece has a story and a house full of stories. However, it invites the viewer to choose his own background, create an imaginary story and even enjoy it. The exhibition features a statue of the 'kiss'. A sculpture about love and relationships. A personal story of love at first sight. An initial hug and immediately a long kiss that lasted four minutes. Accelerated heart palpitations and hip flap. falling in love. Two years later. In a wedding dress. Happy marriage + 2 wonderful girls. The artist Iris Ben Yosef - energetic woman, full of energy and playful soul. Art is the spice of her life and that is what motivates her to wake up every morning with joy. This is her debut exhibition and she believes and is motivated to reach the consciousness and colossal exposure.
