Closing: March 2 All the works that will be exhibited in Barry Stone's exhibition began as photographs, and only after choosing the photographed scenes, trying to capture the inconceivable, did drawing and painting work begin on canvas. His paintings occasionally evoke the lyrical abstract style of the 1970s, when the sketches in his works sometimes refer to painter Ruth Schloss. Stone focuses the viewer on the fleeting moments he chose to commemorate with his camera, these moments will accompany him all along as inspiration for the image we can see on the canvas. The original point of view of the artist is accompanied by his commentary on the canvas. At the same time, the artist leaves space and space for the viewer and offers him an experience of re-observation. Stone's creative process begins with the camera's eye, through which he perceives characters in a kind of hidden camera situation. It is important to him that the photographed do not recognize or respond to his presence and therefore always find himself a discrete perspective. His paintings are characterized by a style known as "lyrical abstract," expressing a sense of an elusive subject that refuses to commit to a coherent form or concrete anchoring. Barry Stone was born in London, 1947. He holds a bachelor's degree in physics in England and a master's degree in physics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. For most of his life in Israel, he worked at Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) as a senior software team leader . Today he lives and works in Kfar Sava, has three children and a grandfather of eight grandchildren. Since early childhood he has been a painter and creator in the field of art. All his adult life he dreamed of returning and fulfilling his love for painting . Participated in several group exhibitions, at the Avni Institute, Kibbutz Ein Dor and Kfar Sava. This is his first solo exhibition at the Office Gallery in Tel Aviv. The exhibition "This is my Second Childhood" will be exhibited at the Office Gallery in Tel Aviv, 6 Zamenhof Street, Tel Aviv.
