Music and the visual arts have historically been sources of influence upon one another. From the Operas, soundscapes of classical music draped in the drama of the theater, to the chic? of Warhol, used as inspiration for the works of the Velvet Underground, and onto the symbiotic relationship of Hip Hop and urban culture.
In Tuning Arts, We set out to add another facet to this intricate romance.
On October 28th, Legotek- a collective of artists and D.J.?s based in Israel and Germany will take over the Artist?s House in Tel Aviv providing an opportunity for visitors to take in the artistic treasures of the complex in an alternative, unique environment.
Throughout the event, Legotek will be provide an electronic-tinged soundtrack in several galleries, creating a soundscape that plays off designed alterations to the existing venue, in a sense transforming the complex to an artistic installation in and of itself. An opulent bar serving cocktails and drinks will be available to assist the visitors in greeting the weekend in style.
Among the artists featured in the current sessions is Aharon Alkelay, who is featured in a retrospective of his oil works. ?Oceans of Lead?, a video-art project by Miri Neshri, Tamar Katz?s photography, and Miri Ben-Nun?s sculpture and sketches represent a partial list of the works set to be on display during the event.
The Artist?s House in Tel Aviv, named after the Israeli painter Yosef Zaritsky, is a complex of galleries and studios run by the Israeli Painters? and Sculptors? association. Founded in 2002, has become a home for the works of artists both from Israel and abroad, garnering international recognition for its support of artists both the established and newly recognized.
